History of the Company

October 1933 Nichiman Aluminum Co., Ltd. started to produce aluminum.
October 1943 Showa Denko K.K. acquired Nichiman Aluminum Co., Ltd, and renamed it as Toyama Plant.
October 1946 Production of carbide and lime nitrogen fertilizers started.
Aprill 1959 Production of high carbon ferro-chromium started.
August 1969 Production of high carbon ferronickel started.
January 1983 Production of fused silica started.
November 1983 Production of titanium sponge started.
January 1987 Production of spherical alumina started.
July 1988 Production of high purity titanium dioxide started.
March 1994 Entrusted to produce air separation units.
May 2003 Received ISO14001 certification.
July 2011 Received OHSAS18001 certification.
January 2014 Showa Titanium Co., Ltd. changed corporate name to Showa Denko Ceramics Co., Ltd. Head office was relocated to Shiojiri. Shiojiri Plant was established. (Contract work from Showa Denko K.K.)
October 2014 Production of Shorox started through acquisition of Tohoku Metal Chemical Co., Ltd.
October 2015 Yokohama Plant was established. (Contract work from Showa Denko K.K.)
January 2023 Showa Denko Ceramics Co., Ltd. changed corporate name to Resonac Ceramics Corporation
